Ten Parallels...

Pastor Kilpatrick of Church of His Presence spoke on the topic below yesterday in Church.  I took furious notes and I've tried to relay the essence of what he said.  The Holy Spirit revealed this to him and it is worth sharing because of that fact.

And the disciples came and said to Him, "Why do You speak to them in parables?"  He answered  and said to them, "Because it has been given to you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it has not been given."
     Matthew 13:10-11 NKJV

However, we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, nor of the rulers of this age, who are coming to nothing.  But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden [wisdom] which God ordained before the ages for our glory, which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
     1 Corinthians 2:6-8 NKJV

Ten Parallels Between the Christmas Bombing Attempt and the Church

  1. The attacker's father gave a word of warning that was not heeded properly.  God continually gives us warnings, guides, and signposts throughout his word and via the five-fold ministry (see Ephesians 4:11).
  2. Because the word of the father was not received, five critical government agencies did not get the word.  The father's words were not communicated, so the dots were not connected properly.  The five-fold ministries are not working together in the Church.  This leaves us walking around in darkness.

  3. The terrorist almost succeeded on Christmas except for the discernment of a single passenger.  One person stopped what the government could not.  There was only one reason the mission failed...an intercessor was found.
  4. Wrong identification of the suspect by the President - labeled as an "extremist" and not a "terrorist."  Had he been labeled as a terrorist, could have been turned over to the military and interrogated for more information.  The tragedy of being politically correct....  It is the same in the Church.  People come in with problems and ailments of a spiritual nature and we will not identify it for what it is - Demon possession/oppression.  We no longer have the power to deal with it, so we refuse to truthfully and faithfully diagnose it!
  5. Homeland Security boldly claims "the system worked."  We say the same thing in the Church.  Pride says we are fine, but there is a big difference between how we see things and how God does.  See Revelation 3:15-18.
  6. Government was forced to bring in technology to keep us from danger.  The government has satellites, body scanners, and all manner of technology to bring to bear.  The Church is still playing with binoculars and trying to interpret smoke signals.  However, there is a new order of the prophetic that is emerging that will reveal Satan's strategies.  God loves to reveal.  He doesn't want things hidden.
  7. Weaknesses were exposed that highlighted the need to share information.  Government agencies are forced to share information for the sake of survival.  Just like in government, the Church must come together across all self-imposed boundaries to share common goals.
  8. Al Qaeda used a young, impressionable boy as their emissary to do their dirty deeds.  The men in the high mountains of Afghanistan used the lowly and impressionable to do their work.  Contrast this to principalities and powers.  Demonic echelons that come up with strategies are the principalities.  Demons are the foot soldiers to carry it out.  What was planned in the mountains was carried out in the field.  Evil in high places.
  9. Terrorist had access to the plane because he wasn't discerned.  There was no discernment!  The Church is in the same predicament because preachers and pastors are like sleeping dogs.
  10. The terrorist had a callus on his forehead from bowing down, facing Mecca, and praying five times a day.  We can't get people to pray once a  day.  While he was dreaming big dreams for his god, many Christians are just hanging on for dear life.
Blessings!
